BA Psychology - Child & Adolescent Development, Class of 2017

"When you want something you just find a way to get it done and get past the obstacles."

I wanted to go back to school to get a degree, but was unsure of what direction to take. I decided on psychology with the adolescent and child development focus because my children both have ADHD and my nephew was recently diagnosed with Autism. There is a lack of psychologists in my rural area who can help with these issues. Going back to school has been challenging for me because I have had to take care of my father who had triple bypass surgery and my own hospitalizations for Crohn's disease. I have been able to struggle through studying when and where I can. I can even remember taking a test at the cafeteria down at the VA the same day my dad had surgery. When you want something you just find a way to get it done and get past the obstacles.
