"The MS in accounting stands out to prospective employers."
More confident, more knowledgeable, more effective –Janice Fitzpatrick says she was all three after graduating from Southern New Hampshire University with her master’s degree in accounting. “The M.S. in accounting stands out to prospective employers,” she says. “Having the degree gets you recognized; using the knowledge will help you be more effective in your job. Typically, this is a formula that leads to additional responsibilities and perhaps a bigger job.” Like many SNHU graduate students, Janice juggled work, school and family when she returned for her master’s degree. Her classmates were in the same boat. “We all just wanted to succeed and get ahead in our careers and do more with our lives,” she says. Today she represents alumni on the university’s board of trustees and is a member of the alumni board. Professionally she has held executive positions in the banking industry and with the New Hampshire Electric Cooperative and now is senior manager in Financial Analysis for Liberty Mutual.
