"I want to build upon the foundation of my passion for cultural awareness and cultural sensitivity by strengthening my leadership skills."

I spent my undergraduate years pursuing my passion for studying foreign languages. I have earned a bachelor’s degree in American Sign Language and deaf studies, and certifications in Spanish and German. I will be studying more languages in the near future. For me, studying foreign languages is more than just learning to communicate in a different language. It’s a gateway to gaining in-depth knowledge about other cultures. Learning about the history of different cultures has reinforced my feelings on the importance of cultural sensitivity. My most impactful experience of being immersed in another culture was when I studied American Sign Language/Deaf Studies.

Along with being deeply moved by learning about the culture’s history of oppression, as a hearing individual, it took some time getting adjusted to using a grammatical structure in a language that did not require my voice. I decided to pursue an International Master of Business Administration degree because I want to build upon the foundation of my passion for cultural awareness and cultural sensitivity by strengthening my leadership skills on an international level. Regardless of my career path, my goal is to incorporate my passions into my future career while working within the United States and abroad.
