"The professors at SNHU have been nothing but professional and knowledgeable in their course content."
I am an active-duty Coast Guardsman stationed in Alameda, Calif., with six years of service. My time in the Coast Guard has been fast-paced and full of unique opportunities. I've served many places, from the icy waters of the northern Atlantic to south of the equator on both the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans.
Since 2012, I have spent most terms as a full-time student online at SNHU, working to complete my B.A. in Psychology with a minor concentration in Social Media Marketing. I've had tremendous support from my advisors; previously Sandra Warren and now Melissa Escobar, who have both worked to guide me on the path to success.
The professors at SNHU have been nothing but professional and knowledgeable in their course content. SNHU has truly lived up to its label as being a "top-tier military-friendly school," assisting me financially with over $1,300 in scholarships, so that I could continue my studies during the lapse in military tuition assistance caused by the federal budget crisis.
Pursuing a full-time degree while serving in the Coast Guard has been challenging, but rewarding. I have recently been invited to join PSI CHI, the International Honor Society in psychology, and I have been recognized by the Coast Guard for my unrelenting pursuit of an education. I plan to graduate in early 2015 and pursue a master's degree in business administration. When I'm not wearing a uniform or studying, I spend my time playing softball, going to baseball games, playing the ukulele and traveling with my lovely girlfriend.
