"Through it all, my SNHU courses and all of the wonderful advisors and professors have always been there for me."
When I enrolled as an SNHU online psychology major, I didn't have a clear goal in mind. I was divorced, and working full-time. Still, I was confident I'd made the right decision. Education is an investment in your future and yourself. No matter what, you always have it.
Sometimes I'd be half dead in front of the computer, asking myself, "Can I do this?" But once I got online, I learned so much. My professors were very warm, giving and supportive. They taught me that learning to empower other people is huge. I graduated cum laude, as a member of Psi Chi and Kappa Gamma Lambda, and was in the running to be a speaker at commencement. And, an online class in forensic psychology led me to a career I didn't even know was possible.
I searched through different graduate programs online, but came back to the MS in Psychology with SNHU. I start a new job on Monday. And through it all: job-hunting, relationships - my SNHU courses and all of the wonderful advisors and professors have always been there for me, to keep pushing me on. They tell me, "Great job!" and "You can do this!"
Currently, I don't have Internet at home, so that has been a challenge. But I go to my local library, and I'm a bit of a fixture there. SNHU has helped me, and my fellow students and I help each other to "keep swimming," through Facebook pages for our program, and the class' Blackboard system. Learning is a gift that you give yourself!
