BA Psychology - Child & Adolescent Development, Class of 2017

"Thanks to my professors and academic advisors, I have the confidence to approach my future with new hope!"

As a returning student, I have experienced many things in my "scenic route" through life. My early college experience introduced me to sociology, anthropology and sparked my curiosity in human behavior. I was a stay-at-home mom for ten years when an unfortunate turn of events brought some upheaval: a divorce, a crippling illness, and many questions about the future. Two years ago, I remarried, and I was seeking a way to enhance my personal development as well as a possible new career avenue when I saw a TV ad for SNHU. I browsed the website, glanced at the psychology degrees and entered my information. The next day I was on my way to being enrolled as an undergraduate, and three weeks later began my first online class as SNHU. Now, I am confident in my calling to pursue a master's degree in psychology. I have an opportunity to intern with a gifted therapist who has guided my steps into the field. Thanks to my professors and academic advisors, I have the confidence to approach my future with new hope! Currently, I teach classes on relationships and communication strategies in families within my church with plans to expand my ministry into marriage and parenting workshops all focused on communicating value to those around us.
