BS Accounting Finance, Class of 2015

"I have never experienced the genuine care, concern and understanding that my advisor afforded me while on this journey."

I spent so many years taking care of others that I often neglected myself. Now that my children are grown, I have had time to truly get to know me, and I like spending time with me. I like where my life is going and what I am doing to reach my goals.

I have spent many years attempting to earn my bachelor’s in accounting. I have started and quit too many times to count. The company I presently work for is big on education. They pay up to eight thousand dollars per year in tuition, books and fees for those individuals who want to further their education. The only problem is, living in Arizona, there are very few school choices because my employer will only pay for not-for-profit institutions.

I happened to catch a commercial for SNHU out of the corner of my eye one evening. I watched intently. I spent the next few hours hoping that this school was on the approved list with my employer. I went to work the next morning and was very excited to learn that SNHU was indeed among the approved schools. I must say, I have had a wonderful experience at SNHU from the first phone call through to today.

My initial advisor, Sandra Queenan, has to be the best advisor on the planet! I have never experienced the genuine care, concern and understanding that my advisor afforded me while on this journey. My time with SNHU has given me a renewed faith in myself. For the first time while on this journey called higher education, I now see that my goal of graduating with a bachelor’s degree is within sight.
