"Email your teacher directly if you have an issue. I have found them very receptive."

In my mind, there are a few tips that I think help me be successful in my online courses. First, try to get started early in the week. I know that once Sunday rolls around everyone wants a breather from the last week’s assignments, but this can lead to you getting behind and overwhelmed. Make sure to try and post on the discussion board early, as this allows you to make those additional comments without having to try and rush on Friday and Saturday.

Second, look over the syllabus and if things are back loaded (i.e. a large paper or final exam) try and get ahead early in the course—especially if it is a read-heavy class. Get a feel for your professor. Do they like more posts or maybe just more insightful, less frequent posts? Email your teacher directly if you have an issue. I have found them very receptive, and they live real lives just like us, so don’t let yourself get overwhelmed.
