"SNHU has allowed me to obtain an education that I otherwise would not have had the ability to pursue."
Returning to college to complete my bachelor’s degree has always been a goal. The courses offered online through Southern New Hampshire University have allowed me to obtain an education that I otherwise would not have had the ability to pursue.
Time, for me, is a precious commodity, as I am a wife and mother of two great kids, one of whom has autism. I am also a business manager for a thriving family corporation. My priorities this time are quite different when compared to my first college experience. I am motivated by a love of learning. And I seek to absorb all the information shared with me through the curriculum, my fellow students and insightful professors. I’m driven to excel in my classes because of my desire to contribute all that I can for the betterment of society, and myself. Fulfillment through the praise of others is no longer something I require.
Adult learners typically appreciate being able to contribute to the class through their experiences as a productive member of society. This is something which has been encouraged in my current classes. I am thankful for the experiences my current state of maturity and self-acceptance has brought me. I no longer see detours on the path of life as detrimental to my concrete goals. Rather, I see them as beneficial doors that have been opened for me, to gain greater insight and opportunity.
