"It was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. The staff is amazing."

I'm a mom from a small town in Maine, with a really busy life. After becoming a single mom, my life became a mad scramble to make ends meet. I run a baking business out of my home, and am a massage therapist at a local spa. I work hard, but always knew I wanted more. I love being creative, and try to see beauty in everything around me, even when it's hard to see.

I'd thought about going to back to school for years, but always doubted I would have the time to really make it work. About a year ago, I saw an ad for SNHU on the side of my web page, and decided to pick up the phone. It was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. The staff is amazing.

When I first started, I felt like I was calling my advisor daily for help with things I’d never done before. Luckily, he never minded a bit. My first course was also a bit of a struggle. I had no clue what APA format even meant, much less how to write a citation. My professor helped me understand what was needed far more than any website, and even let me email my first few papers to her directly so she could review them and give me pointers.

I feel so much better about my future, and the future of my family, knowing that in a few short years I will have a degree in graphic design. I’m unbelievably happy that I can set a good example for my daughter by finally going to college, earning a degree and pursuing something that I love instead of something I’m simply good at. Going to school and working isn’t always easy, but it’s also nowhere near as hard as I thought it would be. And it couldn’t be more worth it.
