"Thanks to SNHU, I have multiple success stories!"

I define success as doing my best in a given situation. Even when I fall short of my ultimate goals, I believe I am still successful if striving for those goals produced my very best efforts. That’s why I label myself as extremely successful at SNHU. My ultimate goal is to become a well-known and respected author of children’s books. But even if I fall short of this goal, SNHU has enabled me to succeed because it has brought out my very best efforts as a student and as an aspiring author.

I love writing and have always dreamed of becoming a published author. In my native country of Trinidad and Tobago, however, advanced educational opportunities for writers are limited. After immigrating to the United States, the prospects of a college degree in writing became brighter, but my choice of universities was limited because of my marriage and my plans to expand our family.

Fortunately, SNHU afforded me the perfect opportunity to develop my skills in creative writing. Following extensive research of online degree programs in creative writing, I learned that SNHU’s program, as well as its reputation, was second to none. After I reviewed the creative writing classes in the catalogue, I thought that if I gave my best effort, I could achieve my goal of becoming a published author. And now that I’ve completed three creative writing workshops, I know for a fact that my initial impression was correct. The critiques and suggestions from my professors and classmates really helped develop my writing aptitude. I feel like I succeeded in these workshops because I put my all into them, and my classmates were able to inspire me to do my best. Plus, through two of the workshops, I’ve completed two children’s stories, and one of them is currently being illustrated. The illustrated book will be the culmination of a dream. I will finally be a published author.

I can honestly say that this would not have been possible without SNHU and the support of my family. Both of my academic advisors have been actively involved in my education and made sure that I was on the right track with my courses. Also, the professors at SNHU, especially the ones in the writing department, have helped to keep me focused on the educational objectives of each course. Their insight has been invaluable and has greatly contributed to my continued success.

And of course, I would not have been able to make it this far without my family’s support, especially my husband’s. He has been with me every step of the way. Not only has this university produced the best in me as a student, but also I’m currently on pace to graduate and have two books published in 2015. Thanks to SNHU, I have multiple success stories!
