I grew up in a family that has always been in the restaurant business. My parents opened up their first restaurant in 1969. Growing up in this industry, I learned a lot about running a business, and, also, the dedication it takes to be a successful business owner. I started attending SNHU right out of high school. I really liked the marketing aspect of the business, so that's what I decided to study. After attending SNHU for two years, I had stopped taking classes for some family issues. My parents and I decided it was time to open up another restaurant since we sold the last one, and we had been out of the business for two years. We opened up a pizza shop, and this time I was going in as one of the owners. My education was put aside for a few years as we tried to establish our business. I started taking classes again, eight years later. As a business owner, I think it was the best decision I could have made. I value my education at SNHU greatly, and I have been able to incorporate many of the marketing concepts I have learned into what I do every day on the job. I work over 50 hours a week while attending classes. Many may think this would be extremely difficult, but SNHU does an excellent job of putting you in a position to succeed. As far as the business is concerned, we have seen growth every year we've been there, and soon we will be coming up on our 10-year anniversary. I still have a little over a year left before I graduate. I've really enjoyed coming to SNHU for the experience they have been able to provide.
