"I will be back to finish, so that by the time my child is two, I will have my master’s degree."
I received my Bachelor’s of Arts in English from a local university in 2008. Since then, I have been trying to go to graduate school to earn my master’s degree in creative writing. In California, there are a limited number of schools that offer this degree, and they are all extremely hard to get in to. Sadly, I didn't not get into either of them, so I knew I had to try something else. While on my honeymoon, I saw a commercial for SNHU and decided to try it out. Even though I was a little down about not getting into the other schools, I thought, “Why not try one more time?” Luckily, I got in! I was super excited and couldn't wait to start going to school again.
It was about the same time I started school that I found out I was pregnant as well. So, within about two months, I got married, started school, and found out I was pregnant. Plus, I couldn't step down in my job, so I am working full-time at Barnes and Noble as a manager as well. Things seem overwhelming at times, but I am so happy to just be back in school that I push through. I know that I really want to get my master’s degree, so I have been working really hard on getting my assignments and papers done on time, and, at least for this first term, I will be getting straight A's! I plan on staying at school until I give birth, then taking a term off. However, I will be back to finish, so that by the time my child is two, I will have my master’s degree.
