I spent over 18 months looking for the right school to transition into from my community college. I was accepted to four different universities and decided to pursue my degree through a community college. After completing my associate degree and slightly experiencing online classes there, I knew I wanted to take this path for any future educational plans. I love learning and given the opportunity, I would stay in school my whole life.

Many online schools that I had reached out to did not make me feel very welcomed, and I felt a financial burden communicating with them about my educational plans. When I discovered SNHU, the staff was extremely helpful and was able to provide me the support that I needed to get the ball rolling on my education. I was very appreciative of the various programs the school offered and the vast amount of options students have when they choose to go to this school. I signed up for the 8-week term program, taking two courses every eight weeks.

Last year when I started, I was working three jobs and going to school for what was considered full-time. People certainly did not understand the extremity of these classes especially when I said I was enrolled in only two. To understand that we cover an entire course's curriculum within 8 weeks is an accomplishment in itself. The online programs are huge with the most classes I’ve ever seen available, and many people are involved in it. The supportive community SNHU has created is phenomenal and one of a kind. I am so excited to have had the opportunity to complete my education within one year!

I was born and partially raised in Manhattan, New York. At a young age, my mother decided to move to North Carolina. My mother felt that I would have a greater opportunity to prosper because of the madness in New York. I did not take in great joy of growing up in North Carolina, but over the years, I realize that her decision was a great one. I can honestly say I made great friends throughout elementary, middle, and high school. I participated in basketball and football throughout my middle and high school years. My journey took a shift once I received my acceptance letter from a local state university. I received my Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from one of the top three business schools in North Carolina. After receiving my undergraduate degree in December 2010, it was bittersweet. I was proud of my accomplishment and scared about having a small chance of finding a job with no experience. My goal was to receive a job opportunity within the finance industry, but without the job experience, I knew it would be difficult. After some time of searching for a job within the finance field, I was stuck working a part-time job, making minimum wage.

Soon after, I was working different temporary jobs through temp agencies before I decided to pursue my MBA in Finance. I enrolled at Southern New Hampshire University in January 2012. I was very excited and thrilled about the upcoming opportunities at SNHU. Now I knewI was on my way of becoming a financial analyst as I promised my mother and grandmother. Within a year, I was half way through the finance program thanks to my SNHU support team, family, and my soon-to-be fiancé. Now, I am currently working at Wells Fargo as an operation processor in the Credit Dispute department. I am very thankful for attending SNHU. I have acquired a lot of knowledge and skills that I apply every day at Wells Fargo. I would like to thank my SNHU advisor and professors for making everything so comfortable. They are always there when I need them.

Two years ago, I felt like I was stagnant in my professional and personal life, so I started looking into ways to challenge myself. I eventually decided that I wanted to get my MBA and came across SNHU. Within minutes of submitting for information, I received a phone call and had a great chat with one of the recruiters. A week later, I was enrolled in my first two classes! It's been a challenge to balance work, school and having a social life, but in the time that I have been in the program, I have seen benefits in all three of those areas. I enjoy the challenge and sense of accomplishment that comes with each course. I look forward to where this road takes me in the future.

I am currently a branch manager for a national propane retailer. I am able to successfully balance my time between work, school and home because of the support of my wife and children. I have just recently accepted a promotion to an area sales and business development manager, which is a regional position. I believe that pursuing my graduate degree helped put me in a better position to get this advancement.

Throughout my courses, the professors have not only made the classes challenging, but relevant to my responsibilities at work. I look forward to continually applying this knowledge to make our organization stronger.

During the last year and a half, I have been given the amazing opportunity to complete my master’s degree in justice studies online here at SNHU. There was never a semester where I did not love the content of the course, peer involvement and the dedication of the professors who truly believed in the students and their success. In conjunction with a dedicated advisor, I was not only able to succeed in my classes, but to acquire much needed guidance in regards to my career and where I see myself in the future. As I walk across that stage in May, I will not only be humbled by the amazing experience I have had in this chapter of my life, but owe a great deal of gratitude to my family and friends for always being such an amazing support system and always reminding me that nothing is impossible with a little hard work and dedication.

Given that I graduated from college in 1991, became an architect in 2002, and that I recently completed a master’s in business administration from a local university, my wife wondered why would I want to continue with additional studies. The problem, I informed her, was the increased challenge of implementing accounting and financial reporting into my employment as a project manager at the city of Houston. When I contemplated my employment skills inventory, I found it insufficient to meet my employment challenges. Therefore, I inquired into competitive graduate programs, which may be more practice oriented; I compared three accredited master’s of finance programs. Since the quality of all graduate programs is addressed through accreditation, I then inquired into the return on investment based on the cost of additional education investment. After a comparative ROI analysis, I decided that SNHU MSF presented the greatest value for my employment situation, as I am solely funding the education.

I have not been disappointed. My employer has taken note, particularly with the additional skills I have learned over the last three graduate courses at SNHU MSF: quantitative analysis, managerial accounting, and financial reporting. Backed by data, I have experienced confidence and renewed career focus, thanks to SNHU MSF program.

In high school, I always knew that in life I just wanted to help people. I started my undergraduate career studying nursing and soon realized that I had to find a different way to help people. In statistics, I found out I loved working with numbers, and I eventually switched my major to finance. During this time, I began seeing TV ads for SNHU. I found the undergraduate program okay, but I wanted to do more, and I wanted a program geared more toward my type of learning. I started looking into graduate schools.

SNHU was an easy decision for me; it was flexible and had my major. I applied early and Jonelle in the admissions office was extremely helpful and encouraging throughout the process. As I finished the undergraduate program and cosmetology school, I looked forward to not only being able to help people with finance but also I looked forward to officially starting at SNHU. Now at SNHU, I have successfully completed a few semesters with the help of my wonderful advisor, Lauren. I love pursuing my degree through SNHU, and I am reminded everyday why SNHU works for me.

My name is Vicki Clark, and I am in my third year at SNHU, working toward my bachelor’s degree in marketing. I am 46 years old, with a wonderful, supporting husband and three grown children ages 27, 23 and 22. I was young when I had my children, and I was not able to go to college when most kids would attend. I didn't have the wild, college years — I was changing diapers and trying to make rent each month. It was a lot for any 19-year-old to handle, but I wouldn't change a thing.

A college degree is something that I always dreamed about, but to be honest, I never thought it would happen for me. I preached and preached to my kids about college, and I was living vicariously through them and their hopes and dreams. However, in 2011 when I was laid off, my husband suggested I take time off from working and focus on school. It was incredibly scary, but also exciting to think about actually doing it!

I remember my first class, English 100. It was so thrilling to be learning and, most importantly, working toward a goal and thinking about my own hopes and dreams. I cannot tell you how exciting it was when I received my first A! It is challenging to keep up with my grades while working, but I have already been inducted into one honor society, and I would love to keep my high GPA, so I can graduate with honors. It is a wonderful thing to push yourself to see what you can do, and I love the challenge! I will graduate in 2016, and every time I think about it, I get emotional. I think about my kids and my husband watching me walk across the stage to get my diploma. SNHU has helped me to realize that more of my dreams are within reach and that you are never too old to achieve.

I am a young woman with lots of dreams and with even more ambition. I've always wanted to be able to be the type of person who finishes what they started. I started college straight out of high school.

That did not work for me. Through hardships in life, I needed to work a full-time job. I tried another school online, but I had very little success because they did not offer any majors I was interested in. So eventually, I stopped attending. Then a few years later, I still had the same dream to become a writer. I began to search for what I like to call the "holy grail" of schools. I wanted find an online school that had my major.

Through several searches, I found SNHU. SNHU has such a great program. I've been currently attending for one year now. I truly enjoy the classes and the staff. I feel like I am a part of a team that promotes my success.
