Supporting Our Military
At Southern New Hampshire University, we understand and respect the enormous sacrifice that our veterans, military servicemembers and their families have made and continue to make on behalf of our country.
We are staunch supporters of our military population, providing military academic advisors for our students who offer a true sense of support and understanding, because they have been there themselves.

Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU), a top military-friendly school, has partnered with Operation Homefront, a nonprofit organization that provides emergency financial and housing assistance to military families nationwide. A key initiative in this partnership includes SNHU sponsorship of five gala dinner events for military spouses and their families, beginning in November, with the final event slated for May 2015. The university will provide additional support through the award of one $5,000 SNHU scholarship to a military spouse or family member at each of the five events.
Ranked among the top 20 percent of military-friendly schools nationwide, Southern New Hampshire University offers discounts of up to 30 percent for active-duty servicemembers and their spouses, as well as a generous transfer policy and consideration for military training and experience. SNHU further demonstrates its commitment to its military servicemembers and their families by providing dedicated academic and career advisors with personal military experience to support military students’ success every step of the way in their academic journeys and beyond.
University Honors Military Students with Surprise Graduations
This spring, SNHU went around the world to make surprise diploma deliveries to members of our military community that couldn't attend graduation. With the help of students' families and biggest supporters, we surprised them at home, at work, and on base, all to help them celebrate their big moment.
To the selfless men and women who pursue their education while serving our country, we appreciate all you do.

Watch What Happens When This Marine Corps Officer Surprises His Wife with Her College Diploma
Lt. Colonel Edward Caricato wrote to us earlier this year, telling us that his wife, Courtney, has supported him through every move, deployment and promotion. Now he wanted to celebrate her success in completing her B.A. degree with SNHU, and let the world know how proud he is of her. The Caricatos weren't able to travel from Alexandria, Va. to N.H. for graduation, so SNHU brought graduation to them, working with Ed to create a surprise diploma presentation in front of their friends and family.
Military Spouse Shocked When University Travels 2.5K Miles To Personally Deliver Her Diploma
For 20 years, Renee Miles has supported her husband Tom's military career, and only recently went back to school for her own advancement. She had been very excited to complete her degree with SNHU, and had long envisioned what it would be like walking across the stage at graduation to receive her diploma. When her husband retired from the Marine Corps earlier this year, the family moved to Oceanside, CA and Renee was heartbroken that she couldn't attend graduation. With Tom's help, SNHU was able to surprise Renee with a special visit from her academic advisor, who presented the graduate with her B.S. in Marketing degree.
