MBA Program Overview

Southern New Hampshire University's online Master of Business Administration (MBA) is a 30-credit (10-course) program designed to be accessible to everyone. With mobile-friendly resources and a flexible assignment schedule, it can easily fit your busy life. And at just over $19,000 – total tuition – our accredited online MBA program fits your budget, too.

"The exciting thing about this degree is that we left behind preconceived notions about what an MBA program is, and really leaned forward into what it should be," said Dr. Andrew Gallion, an adjunct instructor at SNHU and a subject-matter expert for the MBA program.

Have a business degree? Great! You’ll take 7 core business courses and then choose 3 electives or a 3-course concentration to round out your 10-course MBA program.

No business background? No problem! You may need 1 or 2 foundation courses. Then, you’ll take 7 core courses and 1 elective (or add a 3-course concentration) to complete your program.

If you enroll full time in the online MBA program (2 courses per term), you should be able to finish in about 1 year. For part-time students (1 course per term), it could take about 2 years. The good news is, you can switch from full time to part time and back again as often as you need.

Courses & Curriculum

The online MBA program at Southern New Hampshire University can best be described as hands-on preparation for becoming a leader of tomorrow. The curriculum was designed to weave subjects like finance, marketing and strategy throughout classes on brand optimization, measuring success and innovation.

All MBA students are required to take the same 7 core business courses. In addition to the business core, you can choose to take 3 courses from a selection of major electives or incorporate a concentration to round out your 10-course program.

Note: If your bachelor's degree isn't in business or a related field, you may have to complete up to 2 foundation courses. These foundations cover essential business skills you’ll use throughout the MBA program. And, you can use your foundation courses as electives in the general MBA track, keeping your program length to 30 credits. If you’re required to take foundations and you choose to add a concentration, the maximum length of your program would be 36 credits.

Get Real-World Experience

All online MBA classes use scenario-based learning, which gives you the opportunity to practice the course content in a real-world scenario of a likely business problem.

"The learner will be immersed in an experience with learning tools and an instructor who acts like a mentor," said Dr. Jessica Rogers, a senior associate dean at SNHU. "The scenario solution is mapped for the student to break challenges into sub-tasks, leading to a conclusion and assignment submission."

Scenario-based learning gives you an authentic learning experience that mimics the workplace. By taking part in several scenarios, you can bring advanced expertise to organizations as soon as you graduate.

Earn Embedded Credentials

In each course throughout the program, there's an opportunity for you to earn embedded credentials in industry-recognized skill areas that align to your coursework. Not only will you graduate with an MBA, but along the way, you'll gain a competitive advantage with badges and certificates that can be immediately shared out to your network and potential employers.

Future-Proof Your Career

To say that SNHU's MBA program has moved away from a traditional format might be an understatement. We've developed a program that delivers a long-established MBA education in a new and dynamic way to truly give you the best of both worlds.

"This program looks away from the design and content of past, more traditional programs and forward into the future for the skills needed to succeed," said Dr. Andrew Gallion, an adjunct instructor at SNHU and a subject-matter expert for the MBA program. "While a subject like accounting appears to be pretty straightforward, having an innovative mindset can push the practice forward and create efficiencies and new techniques."
