"This degree is giving me the tools necessary to be able to pursue my dreams. I hope to one day own my own business."
Felicia Peters knew exactly what she wanted to do: Work in public relations and someday become a well-known publicist running her own business. In fact, she was already working in public relations when she enrolled in classes with Southern New Hampshire University, but she knew she would need her degree to move her career forward.
"I knew that by attending Southern New Hampshire University I would be given the tools to do that," Peters said. "As a young professional, this degree is giving me the tools necessary to be able to pursue my dreams and aspirations, and I hope to one day own my own business."
Peters said she was able to complete her degree while working full-time thanks to SNHU's online course format. "It can be really difficult to ... balance school but SNHU, they've really made it very smooth and easy for me to be able to go to school online and get the education I need," she said. "Online gives me the flexibility with my full-time work schedule. It's very difficult to drive to a university or to a campus, so being able to go to school online has really granted me the flexibility I need in order to get my degree."
Peters said support from her academic advisor was also an essential factor during her time at SNHU. "I think the advisors really made it a very smooth transition from ... attending campus to school online. I was a little leery at first, but it's been great. I've had a wonderful experience," she said. "My advisor, she's always paying attention to me, always giving me a call. She really caters to my needs and, overall, I think that SNHU really supports their students."
