"Taking courses online saves me time, too, so I can actually do all the things that I want to."
My name is Justin Perry. I am 34 years old and a student taking classes online at SNHU. I love to play and perform music, exercise and read. I read everything that I can get my hands on that involves music or music theory. In addition to playing music, exercising, reading and living life, I also have to deal with having type 1 diabetes, which I was diagnosed with 10 years ago this December. As a student and musician who also has diabetes, managing my time can be very difficult. I had considered going back to school for years, but was never able to find the time, and I decided it just wasn’t practical. Going to school on campus wasn't an option for me, so when I found out that SNHU offered online courses, for the first time it seemed as if going back to school was actually feasible.
I am determined to be successful as a musician, and I work every day at becoming better at what I do and getting closer to my goals. Having a degree was always part of the plan, though; I realized that no matter what my circumstance is, I could always improve it through the use of education. Having the goal of being a college graduate also helps me stay focused and on track with the other aspects of my life. Taking courses online saves me time, too, so I can actually do all the things that I want to.
