"I am so thankful for this program as it is helping me to become a better teacher, a role model to my sons and an all-around better person."
I have been teaching high school English for ten years in the Chicago suburbs. I have been happily married for seven years and have two sons: Wil (3) and Brady (20 months). I am passionate about people and helping people. I am very blessed to have a supportive family who has always pushed me to accomplish my dreams. My dad always said that education is the only thing no one can take away from you. This is my second master’s degree, and I am loving every minute of learning through SNHU. I am also a philanthropist, raising awareness through ERINS AAIM FOR CHANGE, which raises money to help victims of drunk driving crashes and student scholarships in memory of my sister, Erin.
My life has become something beyond what I ever dreamed it could be. Jimmy Buffett sings "some of it’s magic, some of it’s tragic, but I had a good life all the way." I have battled some tough times, but I am proud of myself and my family for getting through those challenges, learning from them and fighting to help others.
SNHU has helped me realize that I can accomplish my dream of earning an M.A. in English, even with all the other things in my life. I am so thankful for this program as it is helping me to become a better teacher, a role model to my sons and an all-around better person.
