BA Game Art & Development, Class of 2017

"I was impressed by the ease with which I maneuvering through course materials and SNHU’s website."

I graduated Hermon High School in Maine in 2001. Currently, I’m thirty years old and living back in my hometown of Carmel, Maine. I have always wanted to go back to school. At first, my dream was video production because I had taken a few classes in high school that interested me. Then, I discovered that a video game development and design program is offered at many different schools. I have always enjoyed video gaming, and have been interested in the art and design behind it. I want to put my imagination to use, by making an in-depth RPG video game.

I researched here and there for years. Then, one morning, I woke up and decided it was time to do something with my life—time to follow my dream. A friend told me about Southern New Hampshire University. SNHU offered the degree program I was looking for and offered several other benefits. SNHU offers online courses and has a physical location close to where I live.

Within minutes of requesting information, an SNHU admission advisor called me. Before I knew it, I was signing up for classes. I was extremely nervous, but excited at the same time. My dream had become a reality. I was impressed by the ease with which I maneuvering through course materials and SNHU’s Web site. SNHU offers interactive learning, including weekly discussion boards with your classmates.

I am only three weeks into classes, but I have already learned so much. SNHU literally provides everything you need to be a successful student, such as an interactive learning environment, career services to help with resumes and cover letters, and an online, easy-to-navigate library that caters to learning needs around the clock.

SNHU has provided me a chance to live my dream and to overcome obstacles that previously stopped me from going back to school. I cannot wait to accomplish my next major goal: graduation. SNHU helps dreams come true!
