BA Graphic Design & Media Arts, Class of 2015

"I enjoy the flexibility of online learning, and I appreciate the professionalism of the instructors."

Growing up, I knew I loved the arts. Creativity ran in my family and being creative felt natural. When I graduated high school, I sacrificed and stifled that part of me and took "practical" jobs. I spent the last 20 years in the medical field, but never did that little voice of artistic nature stop quietly calling me from within. Finally, at the age of 44, as a mom to a teenager, wife to an incredibly supportive husband, and burned out long-term employee tied to a medical office, I took the steps toward achieving a goal I had wanted for so long: a degree in the arts.

I enrolled in SNHU online, and quickly became invested into my studies. The program has increased my skills and knowledge of graphic design exponentially. I have learned the ins and outs of the major tools such as Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop. The program has already allowed me to implement newly learned skills into real-life projects and work. I am so happy to have taken those first steps back into college, a new path, and a bright new career in my near future!
