"I wanted to show my children that although Mommy is a soldier, she’s educated, too."
Rasheeda Davis is a human resources specialist in the U.S. Army and has spent the last 14 years in the military. She wanted a strong educational foundation to prepare her to transition to a human resources career in the private sector following retirement.
“I want them to know that the sky is the limit, and if Mom made education a priority they should, too,” Davis said.
An online student, Davis earned her associate’s degree at SNHU and recently completed her bachelor’s degree. She credits her academic advisors for supporting her during class registration and for helping her apply military tuition assistance. She also appreciates the knowledge and guidance her professors and classmates provided along the way.
“SNHU has provided me with such a meaningful undergrad experience that I’m dreading leaving,” Davis said.
Although she didn’t attend graduation after receiving her associate degree, Davis made it a priority to commemorate her bachelor’s degree. Her family was able to celebrate with her at the 2017 Commencement at SNHU.
“After meeting with staff and faculty and listening to our president (Paul LeBlanc) speak at graduation, I knew that SNHU was the absolute best choice for me. I don’t regret one thing about my undergrad experience. Everything was perfect,” she said.
What’s next for Davis? She plans to pursue a master’s degree in human resources management.
