"Every course contains information that I am able to apply right away to my projects and management approach."
I have worked in several different industries. However, my passion in each has been very similar. I enjoy managing others by listening, helping, and motivating them to be the best they can be. I also am very passionate about reducing non-value-added time. When production goals or project completion dates seem unattainable, I bring the whole team together to brainstorm on how we can eliminate waste. This is the lean approach that I bring down to the level of all people who impact the project or production. I have managed multiple large healthcare construction projects. Each project finished ahead of schedule and under budget.
After completing a new 76-bed hospital from the ground up, I knew it was time to change industries and take my excitement into the manufacturing sector. After one year of working for a major medical device manufacturing company I have been promoted to Sr. Industrial Engineer on the Continuous Improvement Team. In this position, I lead projects and teams to improve throughput, reduce scrap, and non-value-added (NVA) activities. This position is a great learning experience, which is preparing me for my goal of becoming an operations manager. In order to compliment my work experience, I decided to enroll in the SNHU online MBA program. Every course contains information that I am able to apply right away to my projects and management approach. It has been a great first year in the program, and I look forward to the upcoming courses.
