Music at SNHU

SNHU Orchestra 2018 Capitol Center Performance

The Southern New Hampshire University Orchestra, SNHU Choirs, Manchester Choral Society and Manchester Community Music School Orchestra performed Gustav Mahler's "Resurrection Symphony" at the Capitol Center for the Arts on April 19, 2018.

Music plays a large role in the lives of many SNHU students, whether they have chosen to major or minor in a music-related field or not.

At SNHU, music is more than a program of study. It's a creative outlet-a way for students to explore their passion and create something beautiful. It's a way for students to come together and share their love of rock, jazz, orchestral music, acapella pieces, and more. It's also a way for students to connect with the community at large, as even non-SNHU students gather on campus to play with musicians both young and old.

You'll find no shortage of musical outlets here. SNHU offers an MBA in Music Business in partnership with Boston's famous Berklee College of Music. There is even a Music minor for those students who aren't ready to give up music, despite majoring in other fields.

Make Beautiful Music Together

There are plenty of ensembles to choose from at SNHU-and often something new in the works. Currently, you can choose from:

  • Brass Ensembles
  • Concert Choir
  • Jazz Choir
  • Jazz Ensemble (and jazz combos)
  • Orchestra
  • Percussion Ensembles
  • Rock Bands
  • Sax Choir
  • Wind Symphony
  • Woodwind Ensembles

There are also plenty of smaller groups to choose from, and new ones are formed all the time. Rock and roll groups, sax quartets, acapella groups, and more have formed when like-minded students get together. There are no limits at SNHU, and we always encourage students to start something new!
