Government Shutdown Update for Military Students

As the government shutdown continues, members of the U.S. military continue to face uncertainty about the availability of their Military Tuition Assistance (TA) funds or MyCAA financial assistance. While impacts vary depending on the branch, Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU) is committed to ensuring students can continue their studies uninterrupted.

SNHU is monitoring the impacts on servicemembers and is working with students on an individual basis.

New or returning students who are experiencing delays with TA or MyCAA financial assistance can move forward with registering for classes without payment or TA in place. They should continue to apply for TA authorization as normal if within the application window. If TA or MyCAA financial assistance is delayed or not available by the end of the current terms due to the government shutdown, SNHU will provide a scholarship equal to what the TA benefit would have been to ensure impacted military learners can enroll and stay enrolled. This will be reevaluated at the end of each term if the shutdown continues.

Students should contact their advisor for more information and the link to the form they need to complete if funds are delayed.

SNHU has a long-standing commitment to supporting the educational goals of active-duty servicemembers, veterans, and their families. Our teams remain committed to helping our students navigate the shutdown.
