Scott Jackson Earned a Master’s Degree and Thinks You Should, Too

Scott Jackson '22MBA, SNHU graduate with a Master of Business Administration.Scott Jackson '22MBA knows the importance of staying connected. That's why he's still involved with his alma mater after earning a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a concentration in International Business from Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU) in 2022.

In addition to his positions as an executive at Amazon and CEO of The Jackson Creative Group, Jackson currently serves as a member of SNHU's Alumni Board of Directors.

"Being part of the SNHU alumni community, honestly it means everything," he said. "There's just so many doors that can open just by networking."

In 2025, he came out to an alumni event in Atlanta to connect with members of the SNHU community and shared about his experience earning his MBA.

Ready for a Change

Before starting his master's degree, Jackson said he was feeling like his life was at a standstill — he was ready for something new. "What made me decide to go back to school was just feeling stagnant," he said.

From the moment he started his courses, he felt an immediate change in himself. He wasn't stuck anymore. "As soon as I got into the program, I was able to see what I could accomplish," he said.

Along the way, he felt supported by his instructors, advisors and peers and said SNHU's environment was very encouraging. "There is a difference working with people, being around people who actually want you to succeed, who want you to absorb this knowledge and do better with your life," he said. "And that's just the support that I had. Everyone was helpful, friendly and genuinely wanted you to win."

So, is a Master’s Degree Worth It?

Looking back on his experience earning his MBA, Jackson's only regret was not starting sooner. "I would tell my prior self, 'You should have done this a long time ago,'" Jackson said.

He noted that getting his MBA at SNHU gave him confidence and put him on a new path. "My life really changed," he said. "I stepped out, I ran for office. I was actually on the ballot last November for the House of Representatives."

And to anyone considering going back to school? Jackson said a master's degree is worth it. "If I met someone that was on the fence about coming to SNHU, I would tell them this could absolutely change your life. Don't take another day," he said. "This is the opportunity, here, now."

If you're feeling stuck like he was, Jackson said action is the answer. "The world is getting a lot more competitive," he said, "and if you stay still, you're going to get left behind."

He said you can go after your dreams, too, starting with a leap of faith.
