"The career advisors at SNHU led me in the right direction."
I work full-time for a financial planner in Exeter, N.H. I take courses online and find that I now do most of my homework after my job. I say “now” because I am a proud new father. Two-month-old Nathaniel keeps us all very busy in the morning.
Before Nathaniel was born, I liked waking up at six and putting in some study time. Along with work, family and school, SNHU has been an excellent place to learn about networking. I used to wonder how and why to meet other professionals. The career advisors at SNHU led me in the right direction.
I now have professional contacts at the Crooked River School in Maine, where I speak to high school students about the importance of work and how to keep a budget. I was also able to pair up with a faculty member at SNHU and found out about VITA, the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program. After an initial test hosted by the IRS, I found myself preparing federal and state tax returns for people in New Hampshire. SNHU's MS in Accounting program has been very rewarding inside and outside of the classroom.
