"What SNHU offers-you can't put a price tag on it."
Chris Thompson named to Business West's 40 Under Forty
Some alumni find themselves back in the classroom years after graduating.
Chris Thompson ’01 talks to Dr. Doug Blais’ sport management students about various career paths and offers advice.
“I stress the importance of sales,” he said. “There is always someone on your heel willing to work harder and for less money. Make yourself a well rounded candidate to a company and show them you are a revenue generator. If you can sell, you can write your own ticket.”
Thompson landed his “dream job” at a sport management and marketing agency when he graduated. Then he went to work for the American Hockey League, and now is the vice president for business development for the American Hockey League’s Springfield Falcons in Massachusetts.
He comes back to campus in part because he is grateful for the contacts he made with the help of SNHU’s sport management faculty. He also feels it is important to “stay connected to your roots.”
“They went to bat for me,” he said. “What SNHU offers – you can’t put a price tag on it.”
